1. What is a good home theater design?

   I want to turn my basement into a home theater. My basement is VERY long and BIG but not very wide. It is wide, but not so much. Any ideas for a home theater design that is not a lot of money? Maybe a little popcorn machine too? :) A few movie posters?

   I just got a new home and a have a room 20 X 15 which i want to use it as a home theater.    the tv and sound system is easy to pick out. im just a little confused on the colors. the theater is going to be in my basement. so there's no windows or anything like that. i was also thinking of putting some blue neon behind the tv that'll shine on the wall behind, and some blue neon under the bar. i just think that would look cool. but other than that, are there any other ideas as far as colors or anything else. any suggestions are appreciated.

4. guest room as home theatre?

   Hi, I have a guest room. Generally the guest comes very rarely (almost 0 :))and the room is almost vacant. The size of guest room is 10ftx10ft. The guest room already have a bed in it. Now, I am planning to make a home theater of it. I need some good design photos (specially the type of wood work) that I need to do and my home theater should look great. I am just looking for the front wall design where the LCD TV will put, If you have some good ideas please share.

5. Do Directv universal remotes have a code for an RCA home theatre system RT2380BK?

   I have recently purchased a Directv system and I have programed all components to operate on the universal remote that is provided with it. I have an RCA RT2380BK Home theatre system and can not seem to find the code or proper menu selection for it. There is TV, DVD, VCR, and optional Directv receivers, but nothing for Home Theatre or suround sound. If anyone knows please tell me. I have even tried contacting RCA and Directv and they are oblivious to my inquiry. They did design and program it, but have no idea what I am trying to accomplish. All I want is for my "Universal Remote" to be able to turn the volume up and down on my home theatre system? Anyone?????

   (1) Home theatre design and installation company - go into someones home and help them decide what hardware/equipment to purchase and how to install their home theatre to get the best sound quality and results. Then install it for them. (2) Buy or build a set of cabins near the popular lake resort of Big Bear California and retool them with a British theme, ala Fox and Hound, Cabins would provide an elegant old world feel and feature unique, home made British style pastries and treats made fresh on the premises. (3) A husband and wife home improvement team, where we come into your home and work with you to do your own DIY - i.e. show you how to do your own painting, tiling, etc and how to achieve professional results. (4) A Business efficiency consultant - Go into a business, interview the people, figure out what they do, and then report on how the company could do things better and/or do away with unneeded steps in their processes. (5) Handyman service - Come out and fix whatever is broken - a window, hot water heater, whatever... nothing too outrageous - they wont reroof your house but they could fix a leak or repalce a toilet or repair a door, etc. (6) After school Robotics clubs - Kids sign up, parents pay for it, and kids learn how to create and program robots - for school systems not offering such classes.

9. Anyone have ideas about what I could name my Home Staging business?

   Home staging is like interior decorating for real estate...if you've ever watched "Sell this House" or any of those other shows on HGTV, that's it. I'm starting my own business and I'm having the hardest time thinking of a name! Any suggestions would be appreciated. I've been looking up theater vocabulary and thinking along those lines...names like: Red Curtain Home Staging, Upstage Home Interiors, Grand Entrance Home Staging, First Impressions, Sell By Design, Designed to Move, Spotlight Home Staging, Ovation Home Staging...but nothing has made me say "That's the one!"

10. What are the best accessories to completely pimp my room with no price limit? Im Running out of ideas?

    I already started placing a few things and keep adding to it but am running out of ideas. Want this to be a guys room but be able to bring girls in also. so far we got *42'' HD Plasma *X Pole -Stripper Pole *Mega Fog Machine *Sound actavated 3 color lasers (make holagrams and designs to music beat) *Custom Desk/ Matching book shelf *Lap top hooked up to plasma/ wirless key board & Mouse *Direct TV *x box 360/ Wii *2 PA speakers + Samson Ex500 i had converted to run as home theater equipment (looking for something more intense for speakers though something to really BOOM) *Mini Fridge *Full Mirror *3 Electric Gutairs hanging (idk how to play them) after that im stuck... maybe mood lights? love sacks? rotatin bed? idk where to find this stuff though... gonna need some help... any other ideas. i really want my room to stick out as one of a kind/ a place to hang out in.

11. Design my house?

    We have just bought a block of land to build our 'dream' home, which is proving easier said than done. We are going to a designer, but I want a rough copy on paper before we go, so anyone who wants to have a crack feel free. Post them on something like photobucket and give me the link, or post them to mrsgreen663@yahoo.com. Specifications and rough room size ideas: block 16m front, 17m back (so I am thinking its roughly 38 down the side, havent got the paperwork yet). Is facing north north east, so we have ocean views to the rear that we need to utilise. Prefer all bedrooms upstairs, but open to options. 4 bedroom, minors 4x4 with 1x2 BIR master 4.5x4.5 both ensuite n bathroom 4/.5x3.5 WIR total 4msq toilets 1.5x2 kitchen 6m office/study 3.5x3 laundry 2.5/3x3.5 linen closet 2x1.5 plus a theatre, living area, dining (we will have a pool so want open living with views of back) outside entertaining area (large) and upstairs balcony to overlook ocean. I appreciate any ideas. Yes I have a house modelling package, I find it is easier to do on paper. Have also looked at all the ready made plans for ideas, but none of them are what we are trying to achieve (and those in our class don't have 'pre-done' plans.

12. How would i go about getting a video game of my own design made? Lame...i know.?

    I know you are all gonna think im the biggest loser here but go ahead. i dont care. About four years ago, i just started doodling, drawing my own guns and thinking it was fun. over the years these 'custom designs' have been refined and technically modified so that they actually looked somewhat realistic. after this ideas for incorporating them into a video game plot came into my head. it was (and still is) a goal of mine to submit my concept drawings and storyline etc. to a developer and perhaps have it made. I know this sounds incredibly "loserish" the kid who sits around drawing guns, vehicles and stuff hoping to get them put into a video game. but idk....ive put years of work into it...small bits at a time when im bored. i have about 35 weapons, encompassing assault rifles, shotguns, sniper rifles, mortars, anti tank weapons and machine guns etc. I have about 25 vehicles drawn out also including APCs, halftracks, tanks, aircraft etc. All of this is based around a plot. here is a small summary so you get the idea: The year is 2054. The world has run out of oil. Economies have collapsed, countries have fallen into civil war, small-scale nuclear strikes from various conflicts have polluted the atmosphere and turned some areas into the post-apocalyptic piles of ash and garbage heaps expected to be found in the Terminator movies. Amid the confusion, the remnants of NATO nations have pulled together an international fighting force known as the Free World Coalition (FWC) -- based on the real life NATO, Halo's UNSC and Frontlines:Fuel of War's Western Coalition. It is composed of soldiers from every military of every participating nation. All however have contirbuted its technology to produce standardized weapons, body armor and vehicles for all. Fighting is spread all throughout the world, in almost every country. Those not engaged in direct warfare are fighting riots and local warlords on the home front. Your perspective is simply a single FWC soldier in an American element fighting in southeastern Europe, fighting bands of guerrilla fighters, Russian Separatists and local militia. With widespread fighting, your theater of operations is pretty much left to fend for itself, supply is difficult, casualties are high and nobody in the unit seems to understand what all the fighting is about and why they are even there. The entire game takes you through 15 'missions' of fighting with your unit through the war torn countryside of south eastern europe, not even knowing what country you are in at times, to the obliterated cities of Poland into the streets of Russian towns. i havent gotten all the way with the plots and missions yet, but im almost there. what i want to know is how to take my full plot, concept drawings and such and get them to a game developer to consideration. Does anybody have any suggestions for me? Thanks.

13. recording to a computer using a guitar, Dynamic or Condenser?

    OK so I have a Audigy 2zs platinum sound card, the front input has room for a mic jack which is the same size as a guitar lead and designed to be used with a guitar as well but I don't seem to be getting the best sound. The front box has a jumper setting inside you can change to Dynamic if you want, or leave it as Condenser, what am I best to use for a guitar, I have all pickup types and setups over 13 guitars before you ask, to eliminate that question. I get a really rough sound like it's to much for the speakers to handle both on low and high notes but they are concert speakers a designed to handle it. My question is am I getting this bad sound because it's running through the computer mixer before going to a home theatre receiver with another equalizer or is it that I need to change the jumper setting to dynamic over condenser mic input type? I can connect straight from the computer to a PA amp before the speakers if need be but there are a lot of cables and all lying around and don't want to spend ages on tangling myself up in the small room I have to work in to fix this problem, see it's almost sounds like there's to much input before the computer receives the signal, but then again it might be to many mixers or just the wrong jumper setting. Any help would be appreciated heaps even if you have some idea's of the best and fastest way to get to the bottom of this problem with minimal time and effort.

14. I'm so confused and upset about university, please help!?

    I am 17 and will be starting university next Autumn (2010). I have to give in my application for university next Friday and still don't know what I want to study. This is partly because I am unsure as to what career path I want and because I am scared of leaving home. I am constantly anxious, am driving my mum up the wall (because of my moaning and how many questions I am asking) and can't concentrate in class anymore because of the whole university decision making thing. I am currently studying for four A levels: Photography, English combined, IT and Theatre Studies. I achieved A's in Photography and Theatre at AS and B's in the other two. I have loved my AS subjects (apart from IT) and part of me would like to continue with photography/ english at degree level. I am considering Art History and Architecture at degree level, but am not completely sure these are the perfect subjects for me. I am both academic and arty but I am trying to decide upon a degree programme which would provide enjoyment and job opportunities. I do not have knowledge/ massive interest in Architecture/Art History but both the unis I like sold the subjects so well and made me feel that when I am on the course I will love it. Dilemmas: I do not study design which is preferred for Architecture, however, the lecturer I spoke to at the uni offering Architecture said that as long as I drew everyday before the course I would be fine. Convinced? nope. However, it did look like an amazing course. Art History: I do not have knowledge/ interests in it at the moment (apart from Photography which I am interested in) so am afraid I will not develope this on the course. However, it looked like a fab course too. Job wise, I am not sure museum/ gallery/ auctioneer work is for me so should I study it? help! My main problem is that I am very happy with my family and am very scared about moving out of home (what if I hate it there and drop-out, then I will risk not getting a degree at all or studying something else which isn't suited to me). I have no wish, unlike most of my peers, to get as far away from my county/ home- I feel as though I am the odd one out. I have never been too good at communicating well with or being like people of my age, I am more mature than most my age and get along really well with my mums friends- I am better at speaking to adults. Therefore the idea of living with teenagers my age does, I admit, freak me out- I do nto party/ play loud music... would I be the only student like this? I could study art history at a close by uni, which is also a very good uni, but think part of the reason this appeals to me is that it is nearby and I am all too aware that this is not a reason to study something at degree level. I know I am being stupid and that I would probably be fine but ahhh. I could live at home and study at this uni which would mean less student debt but what if I hate the course or don't make life long uni friends like we all look forward too? Sorry I have rambled far too much but I would appreciate some help/advice, especially if you are in or have been in a similar situation. People have tried to help me with my choices (my tutor at college, two careers advisors, some friends, my mum and dad) but obviously none of them want to or can make such a big decision for me.

I realized then that it was a school day. The weekend was over and whhat a boring fucking movie it was that i stayed up watching last night. Adventures in babysitting it was called and it was alot better when i was a kid. Im 17 now and these kid movies are not interesting to me. I remembered that i am 17 and i just had my 17th birthday at acadia university! Wow it was fun, alot of fun 29th of January. I remembered i had to go get dressed for stupid school. And wow so baked at this moment i realized i just wasted like 10 minutesx remembering last night. Ok so then i got up got my stuipid uniform on and then looked in the mirror, i realized my hair wasnt too greasy and i could just go another day without washing it, i would look fine. SO i did that and went to breakfast. Signed in and ate a muffin... i think. So then i sat in my room and looked around and decided i would skip chapel and so i did that....then i stayed here and watched porn and wacked off. Then went to class.I went to study (first class) and worked on my stupid french assignment of me singing a french food song to a song, im doing the beatles. So then I listened to it and it pissed me off to have to look all that shit up in a dictionary man! So then i blazed through study and was getting ready to go to Theatre. I was kindof excited because i just then realized i got to see ms.Bell look at me with respect because of my set design. I geusse in good at it. So yeah I then went into theatre class and stupid Rekia fucking had to make us read her play that \was exactly like Coraline, yeah that stupid cant be origional. Shes the uglyest bitch i have ever seen too.

16. I'm so confused... Is he into me?

    The other night, I went to a play in my small town with two friends as part of a project for my school. I had originally planned just to go with my bf Ann, but Lee, a friend I met through an ex, volunteered to meet us there as well. This I was thoroughly surprised by, Lee is far from the type to go to a play of any kind for any reason, as we walked from our cars Ann mused that he might just like me. When me and Ann got to the theatre, Lee had been waiting for almost 45 minutes. He pulled me into a hug (he was absolutely freezing), and we went inside. While Ann walked around looking at the theatre's many posters, Lee stayed right by my side, and refused to let me buy him anything. We went into the theatre, which was nearly empty, and I sat between them since they weren't exactly on talking terms at the time, they'd actually never talked. The lights went down, and we settled in. I had trouble getting comfortable and when I went to cross my legs I nudged both him and Ann, but he nudged back, and it went on like that for a while until I nudged and he moved his leg down, trapping my leg between his. He just smiled at me, and it went on like that, slight nudges throughout the entire play, not enough to distract myself or anyone else, but enough to keep him in the back of my mind. At intermission we sat joking around, he was obviously able to get along with Ann, which I was glad for. When the lights went down again he nudged and poked me until he caught my hand in his, and held it, stroking it gently. It was surprising, and not the least bit uncomfortable, so I let it be, and we stayed like that until the end, when we were clapping for the actors and actresses. We left and split up, and I drove him home (he lived close enough to the theatre to walk, but it was almost 9:30, and too dark), where we sat talking in my car for almost an hour. Seriously, just talking about wierd things, like our friends, our families, our lives, etc, etc. In the last fifteen minutes he had scooted up so he was close to me, and had been tracing circles and designs on the knee of my jeans. He left me with a hug when I'd realized what time it was, didn't even try for a kiss, for which I was a little grateful. Now, my question is, is he truly interested in me? And would it be a good idea to give him a chance when the ex I met him through is still openly interested in me and they’re both good friends? The ex actually dumped me, saying that we should’ve waited to go out, and he was sure he loved me but wasn’t sure whether or not we had enough in common. It’s been about a month and a half? I really don’t know how to react. I like Lee a lot. Which surprises me. I still like my ex, but I also like Lee? So confused…
