Kitchen Decoration Ideas Questions Answered!

1. Looking for Kitchen decoration ideas...?

   I'm in the process of purchasing a foreclosed home. Currently the Kitchen has white cabinets throughout with little silver knobs, a formica countertop that is suppose to look like "granite" that is primarily black, with swirls of tan (khaki color) with white speckes and all black appliances (microwave above smooth top oven, double refridgerator, diswasher, etc). The floors are real oak floors (light to medium light stain). I'm trying to get some ideas bring a real zing to ligthen add color. Some reasonable solutions could be painting a beige color an then adding accents of red maybe? Adding ceramic backspalsh with an occasional unique time, and possibly evening staing the wooden floors a darker finsh since my current table is a cherry finish. Can someone give me some classic inexpensive ways to get the kitchen to "pop" instead of just a ho...hom!?

2. Ideas for room decoration?

   I need to decorate my room in my tiny apartment. I've tried some photography on the wall, some candles, and a string of those tiny lights people use on Christmas tree to decorate my windows... Any other ideas? I don't want posters on my wall, I think my pictures are sufficient. Can't paint the walls either, the place's rented. Some cheap ideas would be nice. Oh and maybe some decoration ideas for the kitchen, which I share with my roommates.

3. Storage ideas for kitchen with not many cabinets?

   I have a decent size kitchen but not many lower cabinets. My decorations are Rustic Americana stuff, I like the older looking furniture and old looking stuff to decorate with, so I need some ideas of what kind of stuff I can use in my kitchen for storage. Just so my stuff looks like it actually has a place and not just sitting around on cabinets or on the floor. Any ideas???

   For my spanish project I need to create a meal. I already have the meal all planned out. But I am looking for some creative ways to deorate the room and table.    My kitchen is Dark Blue with light blue counters and white and blue tile. My cabinets are dark brown. I am accepting any ideas for anything. Wall decorations or window and door and cabinet decorations anything. The only reason I am doing a fish theme is because I like the way that the seafood reasteraunts look. But I cant think of any other themes to match Blue EVERYTHING I really want a themed kitchen so if you have another idea let me know.

   We are going to start remodeling our kitchen this weekend and I need some ideas for decoration. The cabinets will be white with black countertops and the floor is black and white checkers. We are putting a silver backsplash and have black appliances. Oh and the walls are almost white, but just a little off. We have alot of empty wallspace and I need stuff to put there.    I want my kitchen to look like you just walked into italy. I know it wont look as good as actually walking into Italy but im talking about what can I use for decoration the top of my cabinets, they don't touch the ceiling so i would like to to decorations on top of it. 11. Any apartment decoration ideas?

    My husband and I are moving into a two bedroom apartment tomorrow. I'm going to do some shopping for a few basic decor items tomorrow and am looking for suggestions! What I'm planning on buying is a shower curtain, comforter and maybe curtains for the living room and main bedroom. I would like to have some ideas about what I will end up doing decor wise so that what I buy tomorrow lasts for awhile. The bedroom and living room both have white-ish/greyish carpet with white/off white walls. The bathroom, however, has walls that are a little darker than off-white. Not quite beige but they have enough of a beige tone that I don't think just any color will work. It's a pretty small bathroom with a normal rod and normal sized bath/shower combo. No windows. So the only things I'll be doing decoration-wise are shower curtain, rug, accessories (toothbrush holder, soap dish, etc) and towels. Maybe a print for the wall. The bedroom: I'm looking for a nice relaxing oasis of a bedroom. We're not putting desks or a television or anything other than the bed and a dresser in this room because we want it to be for relaxation only. There is one small window with white blinds already. We are allowed to paint but I'm not sure I'm really into that much effort right now so I'd like to stick with the white-ish walls that are already there:) I would love to read any suggestions you have and I love pictures sense I have a hard time imagining some schemes people come up with! Oh, another issue. Being a smaller apartment, our kitchen is directly off of the livingroom so whatever colors I use in the L-room need to work with whatever is done in the kitchen. Thanks in advance! We won't be buying furniture for awhile so for the next few months we'll be working with a black futon, black television, medium brown recliner/lazy boy type chair and huge floor to ceiling, dark wood book shelf. The dresser in the bedroom is medium brown.

12. Decorating ideas for french country style kitchen.?

    Help! My living room & kitchen are side by side. Living room is painted 'gambol gold' (a dark golden yellow) & I have a large red couch & rug w/ Waverly red & gold toile fabric accents and curtains. The bathroom adjacent to the living room entryway is off of the kitchen. It is wallpapered in a red & gold toile paper w/ white accents & cabinetry. The kitchen has white farmhouse cabinets, black granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances. The kitchen also has a large bay window. 13. Party themes! and decoration ideas!?

    My cousin and I are having our 13th birthday party together! We are having it in a garage, but it's not any old plain garage.. it has a bathroom, kitchen, closet, tv, radio,.. well the point is that it is huge, but its still a garage, so we need some help coming up with great decorations, and more importantly an awesome theme!     Hi, I'm hosting a Halloween Costume Party for Adults at my house. I have no idea how to decorate inside the house. The food is going to be served buffet style on our kitchen's center island. Most of the guests will be in the kitchen and the family room and both of these rooms are in the back of our house. 15. Chrisatmas decoration colour for kitchen?

    Hiya, what christmas colour decorations do you think i should go for in my kitchen? i want to dress up the table, its quite small and round. The kitchen cupboards are high gloss black, the work surface is kind of a glossy browny colour. The floor is white tiles and the chair and table are glass and like a silver metal. Any ideas?? 16. What to do with wasted space in the living room? Decoration ideas?

    My house is kind of strange floorplan. We have a very open concept - the living room and kitchen open up together. There is an area behind the living room that is meant to be an eat-in-kitchen, only the builder carpeted it - so it makes it look more like a huge living room. The area is actually a little small to be an eat-in, and we don't want to spend money on the hard wood or tile. I am just looking for some ideas on how to decorate this area behind my living room..? I have thought about maybe putting a desk or china cabinet back there - but would that look tacky? Thanks for the answers! :)

18. Simple kitchen backsplash Ideas :New Countertops were Installed?

    Not sure if this is within your realm, but since you know plastering, maybe it is. In a rental unit I have, the tenants want me to replace the kitchen backsplash, since new countertops were installed. They have come up with this idea that the lady at the house there wants to tackle at her expense and labor. She has, or intends to buy, some glass type of stone, if you will.They are about a one inch circular stone with flat side to it. I have seen these in items like aquariums, vases with flowers, or just something you see people using for decoration in something. Anyway, shes real handy at projects and this is what she wants to do: The existing backsplash has a small 1x3 tile there now. She wants to, with each piece of those glasslike stones, dab a bit of glue to each one, glue it to the existing backsplash, at various areas, and then plaster over it all,wiping off excess plaster and making the stone deep set into the plaster, with only a bit of the stone protruding beyond the plaster. I almost like the idea of how it would look, however, Im not sure of two things. What glue to use and what type of plaster or material to cover this with. Is this something you can give me some idea on? Thanks

    We have a 2 bedroom condo, and the kitchen, dining room, and living area are in a big room. What every day items can be used as decorations-we are in Germany, and so far away from Ikea. We don´t have a lot of stores to choose from, so I need ideas.

20. kitchen decor and color ideas

    I have an old kitchen from the 1920's/1930's that I want to redo. I don't have the money to get really modern cabinets/counters and all that. I am simply having a new wood look floor installed. The only cabinets are a small section of painted old style, from floor to ceiling, cabinets with glass doors on the top part, which I love. The room size is 13' x 14' with 9' ceilings. I have a lot of woodwork because there are two windows and four doorways and the cabinets in the room. So far I have primed everything and my dilemma now is a color scheme. At first I was thinking all white walls and woodwork for a bright and fresh look and add color with new curtains and decorations, etc.. But now I need ideas, because I just can't decide. I tend to like an old fashioned or country look. I dont want to stain, I want to used only paint. Anyone have any ideas? My light in the kitchen is punched tin and my kitchen set is the farm table style. My floor will be an oak color (fake wood) laminent. Also, if anyone knows of any websites that can give me ideas, that would be great too. I get country home magazine but it hasn't been too helpful. My livingroom that leads into my kitchen has a country decor with tans, burgundy and black. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

27. HELP! I need craft ideas that have something to do with SUNFLOWERS. Please read?

    I need to make something for my grandma for mother's day tomorrow. I know she loves sunflowers. Her kitchen and dinning room are sunflower themed, so I need ideas for a sunflower decoration maybe. 28. What would I call this type of wall?

    I just moved into a new apartment and it has a vaulted ceiling above the living room and kitchen. The wall that separates these two rooms has a large space at the top where I assume you would put decorations. I do not like the idea of having plants up there and I want to look up different decoration ideas. Just wondering what this kind of separation between the wall and ceiling was called. It's just a normal wall that attaches to the ceiling but in the middle of wall at the top there's about a 2 ft gap between the ceiling and the wall.
