    I recently accepted a position as Director of Nursing in a nursing home. I found a vintage bedpan (never been used) on Ebay, and I wanted to incorporate it in the decor of my new office. 14. Room Decoration Question for my new apartment...HELP!!!?

    I live with my grandparents and we have a 2 story home. The upstairs is very nice and they practically live up there. I have a bedroom down in the basement and the downstairs has a bathroom, bedroom, living room, storage room, another bedroom (being used as an office right now but they will be taking the computer and office supplies upstairs). I am 15 years old (16 in 2 months). They told me that I could "live" downstairs and purchase my own mini-fridge and microwave. I just cleaned like the whole downstairs and vaccumed//dusted. I have my layout pretty much decided and now I just need a door. Like I said it is downstairs and the stairs lead into a wall so you have to turn but, there is room to put like a room divider or something up in the door way (which I NEED!!). but, they are like 100 dollars. .... UH NO! I need to know a DIY tip on how to make my own door/divider. Nothing can hang off the ceiling cuz we have that cottage cheese stuff....haha!!! And not the walls because my grandpa said no.     lets take a trip back in time, about 10 years will be good. in the USA, durring the holiday season at the end of the year, we got xmas, hanukkah, and all the others. everyone puts up there own decorations at the office, at home, on cars, everywhere, just to be cheery and waste some money to have fun. no one cared, it was a blast, a time to be happy. but now, since religion had to screw everything up, and people becoming more anal and wanting to be politically correct and have good public relations, its like its all banned, rephrased and given new words that dont say the same things but we know what it really is. have u all learned nothing from south park (if you dont know what im talking about, look up all the xmas episodes and holiday episodes). so are you really offended by any of the decorations and all that stuff? (this goes for every holiday, religious or not or if you think they are religious or not) gary 7: the point is, durring whatever holiday you celebrate whatever, from whatever culture you come from, you can just put up your thing with out someone going, OH MY F*CKING GOD!!! someone could find your happiness offensive, you better take that down. a few years ago, no one cared, a few years ago, if it was your holiday, you could ether stay at home or leave early. you could put it up. then after its all said and done, you take it down. there is no sense in anyone getting butt-hurt about it.

22. Bettles Lodge- Alaska Law- Fired for being Jewish- forced to sleep in a unheated garage- Help!?

    I live in Tampa Fl. Last year I found a remote lodge above the Arctic circle and applied for employment. Bettles Lodge offered me a position in writing via email for the winter season from the dates of 12/1 through 4/30/09- The pay was 1800 per month with room and board was included. This turned out to be a scam and I want to make certain this happens to no one else. I arrived in Bettles on 11/30. The owners were out of town and I had the owners daughter to contend with. The job I was hired for was Front Desk/gift shop. The official title was "Indoor all Around" ... My first day I spent shoveling snow all day- My second day was spent putting up Christmas decorations...My third day was back breaking. I was taking inventory outside in minus 30 degree weather followed by meeting a plane and unloading 2,000 pounds of dog food onto a truck. I never once complained. The next few days was spent moping floors and cleaning toilets and doing dishes. I never said a word because I loved being up there. On day 7.... I asked the owners daughter for feedback as to how I was doing. She was very nice. She said she was glad I was there and that I was doing a great job. She apologized profusely for not being around more to give me direction, but said I was doing great. On day 10 she asked me to hang a wreath outside. When she handed the wreath over to me I remarked that it was lovely. She asked if we put up a lot of decorations back home in FL. I told her I am Jewish so we don't really decorate. Her demeanor turned icy cold in that one instant. At lunch that day she called me into her office. She said it was not working out. She stated that she needs a tight knit crew to work with her this season and "Jewish wasn't going to cut it". I was floored. She then went on to say the plane leaves in 30 minutes and she demanded I was packed up and on that plane. I asked about my paycheck. She said she spoke with her Mom and there was a travel voucher waiting for me back to Florida at the Fairbanks Airport and that was going to "serve as my pay". I said absolutely not. She told me I had no choice followed with a "Sue me"....Please note: I was in a town of a pop: 6. She would not let employees use the phone, there was no Internet, and I was at her mercy. When she refused to pay me I threatened her with the Alaska Board of Labor. She said her dad was the mayor of Bettles and that it would get me nowhere. Ok, now here is where it gets very ugly....The plane out that day was canceled due to poor weather. The owners daughter would not let me back into the living quarters because she said they had problems in the past with terminated employees vandalizing their property. She was perplexed as what to do with me so she called her Mom, and her Mom told her to make me sleep in the garage (NO HEAT Minus 33 degrees below zero) I had to huddle under 6 blankets for warmth and I am not exaggerating when I tell you I nearly froze to death. The next morning I was on the plane to Fairbanks. Upon arrival I tried to buy my own ticket back to Tampa. Everything was booked solid that day. I then told the agent I should have a ticket voucher waiting for me- There was. A ticket to Orlando. I told the agent I need to go to Tampa. She told me the person who arranged my ticket did not pay for it but rather used air miles.... Alaska Airlines only flies to Orlando and so that is where I had to go. . I called Bettles and was told "take a bus we have done enough" and hung up on. I worked my butt off up there for nearly two weeks. Was fired without reason, treated poorly, and I feel abused. I kid you not when I tell you everything I write here is without exaggeration. I have gone on the EEOC web site but I am reading they will not take action against a company with less then 15 employees. Bettles Lodge only has 4 employees. I have printed forms to file with the Alaska Labor Board to get my paycheck, but it's a slow process. I feel so victimized and don't want anyone else to have to go through what I just did. Please note: I spoke to the one other lodge in Bettles named "spirit Lodge" They claim that this is a common issue with Bettles Lodge and a joke with the locals. They are willing to credit my story as well. Do I have a legitimate lawsuit?

It strangles VA resources from providing critical care and benefits to deserving veterans returning from war,” said Douglas J. Loss Amount: $95,000. *Carlos Riosvalle, 83, of Portland, Oregon, was sentenced April 9, 2007, in Multnomah County for multiple counts of Theft by Deception. 24. How can I make my rooms to look more mature and cool (unique)?

    I love it when I go visit people and they have their house all decorated neat modern and mature looking. I am 40 single male living on one single family home. I try to keep house inside and out side simple and clean look. I like the decoration of some nice apartment leasing office interiors or nice hotels. They do not have much, but nice hanging pictured walls and furniture around that goes well with their room. I myself was on a red couch with golden trim that looked very dusty even though I’m sure it was clean, just old. The floors were wooden, old and textured, with flat white walls running up every side to the flat white ceiling, nothing distracting, this was a testing environment. The building itself was very old located on the main street of an old gold mining town I had grown up in. Everything in this town was old including my peers, not themselves but their personalities, who in the small town setting I had gone to school with my whole life. My father, a doctor and my mother, a nurse, very old themselves even took care of old people. The only thing that ever felt new was the oldest thing in town, nature. I loved to walk the many fields in town looking for animals that had been here long before the Miners or the Miwok Indians, both of which might I add were very old. “Pay attention!” I thought to myself as the lady who administered the tests was describing what was going to happen next. I wondered if she was Jewish. Should I ask her or is that rude? Maybe she is but she hates the religion. Is being Jewish a religion or a race? cause they do have certain physical attributes. Or could it be both. “God dam it” I thought to myself “What did she just say?” “Pay attention brain!” “Yes” I replied. “Go!” I was given the task to arrange cartoon drawings in the correct order. “Fuck my life” I thought as I stared down at a drawing of a man getting out of bed. The next card was him leaving for work and the one after was him getting dressed for work. Being polite like my conscience told me to, I arranged them in the correct order even though I wanted to throw the cards in her face for giving me such an easy task. I couldn’t get to mad though I did like the doodles after all, and I admire a good doodle, even if it was part of a test I didn’t like. I guess the tests themselves were not pointless, I’m sure they helped somebody, the whole thing just seemed pointless to me. The lady I see every Tuesday was ready to diagnose me before any test had been administered because she was so gung ho about helping people with disabilities that she labeled anyone in her office right away with A.D.D. Why? Probably cause the news said it was spreading like influenza through the American school system. I was on my way home for the night after 3 hours of pointless testing, it was finally finished, I was done after 4 weeks of it and now I was alone until I reached home, I loved this alone time, time to think and time to smoke nothing made me happier. I wondered how much my parents were paying for this paper describing my condition. Probably a fair amount considering this lady had a degree on her wall, which made it official. My father would had done it himself to save the money but his wall decoration did not have the right words on it. When I arrived home I poked my head into my parents room to let them know I had made it home safely. My father was asleep, he had a 9:00 P.M. bedtime, and my mother was watching the news with her wireless headphones on so not to disturb my dad. “Mom”…………….. no reply…………..”Mooomm!”………….. still nothing. I don’t know why I even try it’s the same old routine every time. I had to walk into her field of view to get her attention. This always startled her, which would make me laugh on the inside. Half awake she jumped at my sight “O good you made it home” she said “How did it go” “It went well” I replied, even though I thought it was a waste of time. “I’m going to bed now” “Ok see you tomorrow” she said as I gave her a reluctant hug and kiss goodnight. 27. Do you think I am overreacting?

    My brother got sent home today from school because he drew his name in his notebook and made it look like graffiti. He also drew a star, pitchfork and sun and used them as decoration around the name. Well, his teacher saw it and sent him to the office. They confiscated his drawing saying that it was gang related. They called in my mom and told her about it too. I feel like they're discriminating and jumping to conclusions. Drawing a persons own name in graffiti style does not make them gangster. I understand that graffiti is associated with gangs, but I think that calling what my brother did "gang related" and sending him home is too much. And no, my brother does not look like he's in a gang. He dresses like a prep. He doesn't even sag his pants. How would you feel if this happened to your child or your brother? I really don't think my brother did anything wrong. It's like being in art class and having the teacher tell you to write your name and decorate it, which I've done before in the past. I've seen people do block letters, bubble letters etc...

29. does anyone know the name of this christmas movie ?

    I had seen a movie in MGM 5-6years ago.It seemed an old movie. I dont know the actors nor the name of the movie.But its good movie; i would say Artistic. I remember the story a bit- it begins with in morning,2 guys carry a christmas tree for decoration. then someone/body/thing hits them and ruined their tree.they again went to bring another.in between. the movie the same happens... then there was a office which deal with the problems of people. people ring their office, tell their probs, and receive solution to those. on that christmas day, when the employees want to go home for celebrating xmas, all the same- phone rings,people&probs. there is a couple- wife is pregnan. there is another character- a man who is dressed like woman and talk like woman. there is an appartment in which somebody stucked in lift for power failure and its xmas and no electrician available.the movie ends with-a baby born to the couple right at the midnight. its all i remember.it seems comic but not actually
