Home Decoration Tips Questions Answered!
- I need autumn home decoration tips?
I have stone brackets on the front of my house. I've laid a wood board across it, so it acts like a shelf (I put a couple flower troughs on it this summer). I'd like to decorate it for autumn with anything from seasonal plants to pumpkins. Any ideas? I have 10 feet in length to work with. - Has anyone out there worked w/ Henna for body decoration? Do you have a good recipe & tips you'd like to shar
I live in Santa Cruz, CA., the hippie capitol of the USA. I'd love to swap recipies, tips, techniqes, etc. I Love to decorate my hands and feet with henna tattoos and always get complements and/or inquiries of interest when I'm out and about. I'm thinking about doing this ancient art of body adornment as a small business. But I do need more practice. If you've gotten really good at this art, what was the most help in getting you there? If you do this as a business how do you determine pricing for your artwork, and where do you work from ( festivals, salon, you're home or studio, do you go to the customer upon request, etc.) Any and all info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ever so much, you mehndi madness people! Oh wait! Has anyone had good results with the new colored hennas, particularly Black henna for skin art? OK I'm done now.

- How can I buy a house worth at least 700k on a 55k salary and poor credit? Just any financial/home buying tips?
My father-in-law passed away while I was engaged to my fiancee (now husband). So we moved in with my mother-in-law, into her biggg house, 2 years ago when we got married. It has been SO hard! It'd be different if I moved into my husband's house but I moved into HER house! So everything is hers and I have to abide by her rules. No shoes here...no food upstairs...ugly decorations ... etc. I don't even cook b/c I hate all the stuff she uses and she's always hovering over. I wish I had my own kitchen! On top of that, my husband has no job! He got laid off and has no idea what he wants to do with his life. So I don't want to be rude to my mother-in-law (cultural reasons) so I want to have her move into MY house - one me and my husband buy. But I have extremely bad credit and my salary is 55k. She won't settle for a small house b/c she likes having family stay with her and plus, big house means more space from her. I have NO financial literacy. Please help me figure out how to go about this process. I need to buy a house soon! This is getting so hard! I feel like a kid, not a married woman. It's my dream to decorate a house and buy furniture etc. When I have kids, I don't want them raised in a house like mother-in-laws under her rules and ways. I don't feel at home where I am. I want to feel at home. Please, please, guide me. ANY tips would be wonderful! How much should I save per year? Per month? What's a reasonable price? Any ideas about new properties in MD/VA/DC? Is it cheaper to buy a lot and build a home on there? :( Oh and how much money do I need to be making to afford such a house? How big of a house CAN I afford then? Thank you for all of the kind answers in advance. How much rent is good for me? Assuming I can't get this house. I REALLY want to though! Must raise my salary. I'm 25.

- best place to buy things for the home?
My hubby and I got our first appartment together last may and have not really had the "money" to buy nice things for the house like curtains, tablecloth, home decorations, portraits, and just accent things to make your house a home. Everything we got is mostly our marriage gifts living room set, tv, all of our kitchen appliances, dinning table and some of the bathroom stuff. everything else we brought home from when we were single. We are using $600 from our taxes so I can finally get what I NEED for the house. I was wondering what store I could really use my money on things like I know macy's I would buy like 5 things and thats it. What's store sells nice things for the home for cheaper than department stores? Any tips are greatly appreciate it. I'm 21 yrs old, newly wed and live in miami! THANKS!

- I need some advice/tips on the what to's and how do's about moving to first apartment from home?
I need to know about things such as; How much do I need to save before hand?[aside of the costs below] -The rent I am looking at is around $550 for a 1 bedroom, and a $200 deposit. With a $150 move in fee. I already have small beginner things; -bed -desk & computer -dresser -kitchen ware -all bedding How much will it cost me to get things such as; -sofa -coffee and dining table [hopefully matching] -wall decorations -patio furniture -area rug [and suggestions for other things in that genera that would be helpful] What kind of cleaning stuff do I need to buy? Is it important to meet your neighbors? How to maintain upper most privacy, with-in regulation, cause I would put up a 12 foot fence if I could.... Alright I'm sure you get the picture... Please just be very through, and as many details as possible, I am taking notes on all of this. And also the little small things that are often ignored, but useful when need, you know nick-nacks like bandaids, somthing stupid =p, Thanks! -

- I just brought home my betta fish?
So, I just brought home my Betta fish, Grover. He didn't want to eat, and he is just kinda swimming around then sitting in one spot. He is very bright in color and healthy-looking. He is in a 1.2 gallon aquarium with a silk plant, a little roman-looking decoration that is like 3 pillars with spaces to swim through, and a fish that sits at the bottom with its mouth open for him to hide in, and a thermometer that sits in the corner of the tank. The water is about 74-76 degrees F (can't quite read the thermometer right). Is that a good temperature? Im not sure if its normal for him to just sit around the first day? He is active and if I put my finger near him, on the outside of the tank of course, he swims away. So is he just nervous since he's in a new home? Also, If I take out one decoration and add a new one next time I clean the tank, will it stress him out? Thanks! Any tips, suggestions, etc. would be really appreciated!
